BIO

Gabriel Leite Mota is Professor of Economics at Instituto Superior de Servico Social do Porto. He is the first and sole Portuguese economist with a PhD on the Economics of Happiness (Faculty of Economics, University of Porto, 2010). He has been participating in international conferences on the economics of happiness since 2005 and has been working as an academic since 2002. Since 2012 he has been a pioneer in teaching courses on the Economics of Happiness at Portuguese universities. He has been writing articles for the press since 2012 and is frequently invited as a keynote speaker in national conferences. He is a member of ISQOLS (International Society for Quality of Life Studies), EcPol (Portuguese Association of Political Economy) and HEIRS (Happiness Economics and Interpersonal Relations).
