Sociologist, clinical social worker, social work supervisor, professor at the Department of Applied Sociology, Institute of Sociology, at the Jagiellonian University. From 1989 he has been involved in social work for mentally ill people. He is a member of the Board of the Polish Association of Schools of Social Work (since 2007); member of Central Examination Board for the degree of professional specialization of social workers working for the Minister of Labor and Social Policy (2012-2022). He conduct participatory research on the methods of education in the field of mental health, for which the macro-theoretical basis is the philosophy of dialogue and for praxis - trauma-informed approach.
