Teresa Paula Garcia Rodrigues da Silva

Diretor of Instituto Superior de Serviço Social de Lisboa (ISSSL) Universidade Lusíada, University Professor and Researcher (Instituto Superior de Serviço Social de Lisboa, Universidade Lusíada; Centro Lusíada de Investigação em Serviço Social e Intervenção Social (CLISSIS)))

I have a great sense of mission for the Instituto Superior de Serviço Social de Lisboa (ISSSL), Universidade Lusíada, a sense that has been refined over time and with the responsibilities that have been delegated to me. Social Work is an area in which I have intervened for more than 30 years, either in the scope of intervention or in the academic and scientific context. I believe that success is achieved through hard work, effort, dedication, empathy and mutual help.

BIO

My academic career in Social Work began in 1985, and since then I have always been active in it. I have been contributing as a teacher and researcher to different thematic areas, but I am currently collaborating in projects in the area of the history of Social Work. The history of Social Work is a subject that I really enjoy, and my mission is to restore and preserve the memory of Social Work, with special attention to the memory of the first portuguese school of Social Work, the ISSSL, of which I am Director. This mission also assumes a commitment to the Social Work community, so that it may have access to the history and memory of its profession and may also contribute in this sense.
